Meditation is like running, it takes
time to build up to it. If you want to run a marathon you don't
attempt
42km on the
first day and it is the same with meditation. Set realistic goals and start with easy steps. And just like running some days it will be easy and other days impossible. Trust your natural ebb and flow and accept that some days you will meditate and others you won't. Remember, even a minute of stillness or a small gap in the stream of activity of your mind is an achievement, so lighten up and enjoy your meditation! ![]() ![]() ![]() The Bucket Meditation: Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. Begin by focusing on your breath. Observe the in flow and the out flow. Allow all your attention to come to your breath. Feel the sensation of air as moves in through nose and out through your nose. There is no need to block out your thoughts, you are simple releasing them and setting them free, allowing them to drift, allowing them to float and returning your focus to your breath as in moves in and out of your body. Now in your mind start to imagine two beautiful angels standing in front of you. They are graceful, serene and tranquil and are looking upon you with love and acceptance. Imagine these angels standing before you now and note they are holding a large green bucket between them. The bucket is large and into this bucket you may place any energies which no longer serve you. Taking a deep breath invite all these energies to rise to the surface and as they do, place them into the bucket. Feel them rising and then feel them being released as you pour them into the bucket. Again inviting any unwanted energies to rise to the surface and be released into the bucket. Continue until all unwanted energy you choose to release at this time has risen to the surface. And when you are done, nod to the angels and watch as they start to lift from the ground and rise up above you, carrying the bucket full of unwanted energies away with them. Watch as they rise higher and higher and then disappear into a pool of white light high above you, knowing these old feelings have been released to Spirit for resolution and transformation. Take a moment to extend gratitude to the Angels for their assistance and support. Now breathe deep and notice how much lighter you feel, how free you feel, how liberated you are..............enjoy! |
